John Robertshaw has been selected as Conservative Candidate for Queensbury Ward in the 2014 Bradford Metropolitan District Council elections.
John was born and bred in Bradford, and is married to Sharon. They have two grown-up children and live in Horton Bank Top. For over 25 years John has been involved with the community, serving as a School Governor and on many other voluntary bodies across the City of Bradford. He has also served two terms on Bradford Council and Chaired the Social Care and Scrutiny Committee between 2011 - 2012, a position which fostered his lasing interest in disability, youth and elderly issues.
A traditional conservative from a humble background together with typical Bradfordian grit makes him a straight-talking individual who loves a challenge. He has built a reputation for supporting individuals and communities whether it be at Planning Meetings, School Appeal Panels or attracting Ward investment.
On his selection as Conservative candidate for Queensbury John commented:
'I see our Ward as the forgotten backwater of Bradford, starved of investment which always makes its way into Bradford's inner city areas decade after decade. Enough is enough. Together with Cllr Michael Walls I shall fight to make the voice of Queensbury heard'
As most Bradfordians, John is a fan of the Bulls and City and spents any spare time with his family.
